If you want to visit the Sultanate of Oman, remember that you need a valid visa. Don't know how? Here's everything you need to know about obtaining a visa (procedure, cost, deadlines).

Is it possible to get a visa from an embassy?

Until recently, it was quite possible to apply for a visa at the Omani embassy in your country of departure. You'll need to check the location of the embassy and find out its opening hours (so you don't make a trip for nothing). Most embassies are located in major cities (Paris in France, Brussels in Belgium, etc.). However, since March 2018, the Omani consular service in Paris (as well as border posts and airports) no longer issues tourist visas. The Omani authorities have set up a website specially designed for visa applications. It is possible to apply for an electronic visa, also known as an "e-Visa".

How do I apply?

To apply for a visa for Oman, everything now goes online. Since 2018, the Oman Police has set up and managed a website specially designed to help you apply for tourist or express visas to visit the Sultanate of Oman. You need to go to this address and fill in the online form by clicking on "register as user". Then click on "apply for visa". Everything is done online, including payment. It costs around 20 Omani rials (48 €) to obtain a standard tourist visa.

When filling in the form, you need to be particularly careful, as even the slightest typing error will be transcribed exactly as it appears on your e-Visa. Be especially careful to note down your passport number.

You can apply for your e-Visa around twenty days before your departure, as it is valid for one month from the date of issue. It takes around 3 days to receive your e-Visa by e-mail. This document is only valid for a single entry into the Sultanate of Oman and allows a maximum stay of 30 days.

You can also submit your application to a specialist agency, which will be responsible for forwarding your application and all your details to the Omani authorities.
